Risks of Silence and Inaction: ERM Considerations for Talent Recruitment and Management
Date: 3/17/2021
Time: On Demand
Difficulty: Intermediate
Overview: Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) are vital to recruiting, maximizing, and maintaining an enterprise's talent pool, maintaining a culture of compliance, and enhancing patient trust. When it comes to DEI, silence and inaction—particularly in the face of continued social unrest sparked by recent publicized events—comes with enterprise-wide risks and costs. In a roundtable discussion through the lens of enterprise risk management (ERM), several professionals from different disciplines discuss how and why silence and inaction pose an ERM problem for an enterprise’s talent pool, its compliance program, and patient-provider trust. The participants also offer suggestions on how to address these risks by engaging in a dialogue with the enterprise’s talent pool, management, and leadership, and taking action to establish or further an enterprise’s commitment to achieving DEI.
