Overview: CMS recently issued a final rule that makes policy and technical changes to Medicare Advantage (MA), Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit (Part D), Medicare cost plan, and Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) programs beginning January 1, 2026. The 2026 MA and Part D final rule notably did not finalize certain provisions from the proposed rule including Part D Coverage of Anti-Obesity Medications, Guardrails for AI, and Annual Health Equity Analysis. This webinar covers key provisions finalized by CMS and discusses their impact on all areas of the MA and Part D program, including for prescription drug coverage, the Medicare Prescription Payment Plan, and dual-eligible special needs plans. Speakers also discuss the proposals that did not make it into the final rule and discuss in detail predictions for future rulemaking and the practical implications of what can be done for the remainder of 2025 and beyond.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn about key updates to Medicare Advantage, Medicare Part D, Medicare cost plan, and PACE programs for contract year 2026.
  • Understand important provisions from the proposed rule that CMS decided to not finalize.
  • Discuss recent litigation and regulatory updates that could impact future rulemaking in 2025 and beyond.
