Overview: Since 2019, multiple administrations have issued Executive Orders to mandate greater transparency of health care costs to consumers. Despite these orders, compliance has been spotty. In light of this compliance challenge, the Trump administration has renewed these efforts with an order that promises more vigorous enforcement, including administrative, civil, and potentially criminal penalties. This Webinar explores the enforcement history on this issue and discuss ways to mitigate the risks for hospitals and health plans.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the history of the price transparency regulations pertaining to hospitals and health plans
- Discuss the new Executive Order requiring price transparency
- Examine enforcement patterns and mitigation measures to government enforcement risk
