Overview: This webinar discusses how to improve investigations in medical staff peer review in order to optimize their value and improve care. Speakers highlight related resources available to health systems as part of the investigation and resources available to providers for improving their practices and any deficiencies in care or conduct with examples of case studies. Speakers also explore legal issues related to investigations such as reporting requirements, use of investigations in hearings, investigation when there are concerns of whistleblower retaliation claims, and issues to consider when engaging in joint investigations.
