Date: 05/13/22
Difficulty: Intermediate

Overview: Please join Dr. April Kapu, Associate Dean at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing and President of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Alex Krouse, Associate General Counsel at Parkview Health, and Amy Noecker, Principal and the APP Workforce Practice Leader at SullivanCotter, in a webinar on the utilization and optimization of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs). In this webinar, the presenters will provide an in-depth overview of APPs, including: their similarities and differences; how specific laws such as the Physician Self-Referral Law and the Anti-Kickback Statute may create scenarios in which underutilization of APPs heightens the risk of violation of these laws; and the optimal ways in which APPs can be utilized, including APP-led care. Attendees will leave with an effective strategy for implementing value-based care models and a better understanding of why underutilization creates risk and why optimization is the key to reducing that risk.
